The Grateful Bread Bakery is a small, family run artisan bakery in the heart of Hexham, Northumberland, specialising in organic sourdough bread. We also sell some of the good stuff that goes with bread, like Ampersand Dairy cultured butter, locally made honey and jams, and bags of freshly roasted coffee by Northumberland Coffee Co.

Our last day of trading before Christmas will be Saturday 23 December. We will open at 9am, as usual for a Saturday.
Pre-orders are ONLY available online. Only a percentage of the bread will be available to pre-order - so please be mindful of others when placing your orders. A lot of our customers are medically vulnerable and rely on this service.
We expect to be busy and will have a full team working to get through the queue as quickly as possible.

ORDERS MUST BE COLLECTED BY 12 MIDDAY- there is no flexibility in this- so the staff can get away to celebrate with their family and friends.

The pre-order page will go live at 10am on Friday 15 December.
